WE ARE OPEN FOR ALL SERVICES INCLUDING CHECK-UPS AND HYGIENIST

EMERGENCIES & WORRYING SYMPTOMS

IF YOU HAVE AN EMERGENCY - OR ARE CONCERNED ABOUT ANY OTHER SYMPTOMS - PLEASE CALL FIRST THING.  WE HAVE A LIMITED NUMBER OF EMERGENCY APPOINTMENTS EACH DAY AND THESE ARE ALLOCATED ON A  'FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED' BASIS.

YOU DON'T NEED TO BE REGISTERED WITH A PRACTICE TO ACCESS EMERGENCY DENTAL SERVICES.  ALL PRACTICES HAVE STRICT INSTRUCTIONS FROM NHS ENGLAND TO HELP ANYONE SEEKING EMERGENCY DENTAL CARE, SUBJECT TO CAPACITY AND TO YOUR CONDITON MEETING THE CRITERIA.  

ROUTINE NHS CHECK-UPS:  

NHS CHECK-UPS ARE BACK AND EXISITING PATIENTS MAY BOOK THESE NOW.  NEW NHS PATIENTS ARE SEEN SUBJECT TO SHORT TERM AVAILABILITY OF APPOINTMENTS

MANY PATIENTS ARE NOW OVERDUE A CHECK-UP AND ARE ENCOURAGED TO HAVE A CHECK-UP.  IT'S SAFE:- WE HAVE LOADS OF PPE, APPOINTMENT TIMES ARE STAGGERED AND SURGERIES BENEFIT FROM ADDITIONAL VENTILATION AND DISINFECTION.  

SCHOOLAGED CHILDREN MAKE UP A THIRD OF OUR PATIENT DATABASE CREATING BOTTLENECKS FOR 'AFTER-SCHOOL' APPOINTMENTS.  SCHOOL HOLIDAYS ARE THEREFORE A GOOD TIME FOR FAMILY DENTAL VISITS! 

HYGIENIST: OUR HYGIENIST SERVICE IS FULLY OPERATIONAL WITH AN ADDITIONAL HYGIENIST WORKING ON SATURDAYS.  

HYGIENIST & DENTIST 'COMBINED' APPOINTMENTS 

THESE ARE CURRENTLY DIFFICULT TO ARRANGE AS SURGERIES USED FOR TREATMENTS (FILLINGS ETC) AREN'T AVAILABLE FOR CHECK-UPS.  

IF YOU CAN VISIT YOUR DENTIST AND HYGIENIST SEPERATELY WE'LL BE ABLE TO BOOK YOU IN SOONER. WE APOLOGISE FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE.

BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT WE WILL E-MAIL A COVID HEALTH ASSESSMENT. IF YOU HAVEN'T RETURNED IT BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT WE'LL CALL YOU TO QUICKLY CHECK YOUR COVID STATUS.

  • PATIENTS WHO ARRIVE EARLY WILL BE ASKED TO WAIT OUTSIDE UNTIL THEIR DENTIST CALLS FOR THEM
  • APPOINTMENT TIMES ARE STAGGERED TO REDUCE TRAFFIC IN THE PUBLIC AREAS.
  • PLEASE WEAR A FACE MASK.  WE SELL THEM FOR £1.
  • WE WILL ASK YOU TO SANITISE YOUR HANDS ON ARRIVAL AND WILL RECORD YOUR TEMPERATURE.  
  • IF YOU COUGH OR SNEEZE PLEASE USE A TISSUE, BIN IT, AND WASH HANDS
  • OBSERVE STRICT 2M SOCIAL DISTANCING AT ALL TIMES
  • ADULTS PLEASE ATTEND ALONE, CHILDREN WITH ONE PARENT / GUARDIAN
  • YOU WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE SHOPPING BAGS AND BULKY ITEMS AT RECEPTION.
  • PATIENT TOILET FACILITIES ARE NOT AVAILABLE
  • PAYMENT BY CARD IF POSSIBLE PLEASE.

THANK YOU FOR OBSERVING THESE REQUESTS.  WE KNOW THEY SOUND A BIT DRACONIAN BUT WE ARE FOLLOWING PUBLIC HEALTH GUIDANCE DESIGNED TO KEEP EVERYONE SAFE.

COVID-19 ANTIBODY TESTS

THE TEST IS A SIMPLE FINGER PRICK WITH THE RESULT TWELVE MINUTES LATER.   IT REVEALS THE PRESENCE OF THE IgM and IgG ANTIBODIES THAT OUR BODIES MAKE TO FIGHT CORONAVIRUS. OUR FEE FOR THESE TESTS IS £40.

IT IS NOT ADMISSIBLE AS EVIDENCE FOR FLYING AND IF YOU SUSPECT THAT YOU MIGHT HAVE COVID 19 YOU SHOULD NOT COME ANYWHERE NEAR THE PRACTICE BUT SHOULD 1) ARRANGE AN NHS SWAB TEST AND 2) SELF ISOLATE PENDING THE RESULT.

The Wand – dentistry WITHOUT the injection

Recognising that many people are anxious about injections, we can undertake much dental work without using a traditional injection syringe. This is thanks to a technologically advanced device we've bought called The Wand which enables us to numb a tooth in a more comfortable way without needing to use a traditional injection (£12.50 charge applies). We believe we are the only dental practice in Hertford to offer its patients this more comfortable alternative to a dental injection.
