EMERGENCIES & WORRYING SYMPTOMS

An 'emergency' is facial swelling / throbbing round a tooth, bleeding following extraction of a tooth, trauma (e.g. knocking a tooth out) and severe tooth ache bad enough to prevent sleep and which is not relieved by taking pain killers.

If you have a genuine EMERGENCY please call first thing and we will endeavour to see you.  We hold a limited number of appointments ( 11am and 3pm ) which we allocate on a first come, first served basis.

Broken or lost fillings, denture issues or a detached crown are NOT emergencies, however, we'll aim to help you as soon as possible.

IF YOU ARE NOT A REGULAR ATTENDER OF A DENTAL PRACTICE WE ADVISE YOU TO CALL NHS 111.

HYGIENIST: We have a hygienist at the practice every day with appointments also available on Monday and Wednesday evenings plus Saturday mornings. Due to the popularity of this service we no longer accept patients who have not seen one of our dentists.

HYGIENIST & DENTIST 'COMBINED' APPOINTMENTS: these are difficult to arrange at short notice and are best booked several months in advance.

FAILURE TO ATTEND APPOINTMENTS / LATE CANCELLATIONS POLICY

NHS patients who fail to attend or late cancel appointments (i.e. giving less than 24 hours notice) waste valuable NHS resources and deny other patients much needed access.  Accordingly, it is practice policy to remove from our NHS lists patients who habitually let us down (defined as failing or late cancelling two appointments) unless there are extenuating circumstances (we may ask for proof).

Private Patients who fail to attend or who late cancel (defined as giving less than 24 hours notice) will be asked to compensate the practice and its clinicians for loss of earnings at a rate of £33 for failed hygienist appointments and £1 per minute (minimum £25) for failed dentist appointments.
